Why Some Hotels Use Carpet Tiles

When guests enter a hotel or a resort, one of the first things they notice is the carpet. Along with the walls and decorations, the carpet gives the guests a first impression of the facility. That is why hospitality establishments spend an extraordinary amount of money, time, and effort to keep the hotel's carpets clean. To make the cleaning easier and less costly for the management, many hotels are now utilising carpet tiles, which come in a huge variety of styles and sizes.

One of the reasons why some accommodation establishments are turning to carpet tiles is that they are easy to fit. The fact that their in-house maintenance personnel can easily install them makes it unnecessary for the management to call on professional help to do the task, saving them time and money. In addition, fitting carpet tiles over tricky- shaped floor spaces is easier and quicker than fitting a traditional one-piece carpet. Also, it is easy to use carpet tiles to create a variety of designs. For example, red tiles can be inlaid between white ones to create a chessboard effect on floor. In contrast, white one-piece carpets have to be painstakingly cut in order to accommodate the red squares. Carpet tiles are also less expensive to maintain than their one-piece counterparts. For example, rather than have the entire floor replaced, which costs an enormous amount of money, hotel personnel can just pry off the damaged tile, buy a new piece that matches the size or design, and replace the old piece with the new one. Finally, the introduction of more and more designs means that they will never go out of fashion.
